Join the civilian committee

Purpose of the Civilian Committee

The civilian committee are an integral part of the running of a squadron. They give the support needed to the adult staff to allow them to run the squadron effectively on a day to day basis. The activities of the committee are fund raising, organising social events, provision and maintenance of non-issue equipment (I.e. minibuses), and other welfare issues. In some ways the committee is very much like the PTA at a school

Who can join the committee?

Committee membership is open to almost anyone, except the cadets and staff of the squadron. The majority of the committee are parents of cadets of the squadron There is always non-parent members who just want to help either because they are ex-cadets or staff, ex-RAF servicemen, ex-parents, or just from the local community.

What roles are there?

Apart from ordinary members there are the following positions:

  • President (Honorary Post)
  • Chairman
  • Vice Chariman
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
